BPM Entertainment Manager's Illegal Loan Scandal 1,200 Contacts at Risk

A manager from Big Planet Made Entertainment, identified as Mr. A, has been found to have received illegal loans using his mobile phone contacts as collateral, raising concerns about potential harm to celebrities and other individuals.

On the 16th, One Hundred, the parent company, disclosed that Mr. A had obtained small loans from more than 40 illegal loan companies and failed to repay them. As a result, these loan companies began making threatening calls to the contacts Mr. A had provided as collateral, demanding resolution of the financial issue.

The situation came to light on September 30th when a private lender first contacted One Hundred. Despite the company immediately terminating Mr. A’s employment, the situation escalated as illegal loan companies continued to issue threats.

One Hundred commented, "The nature of the threats has gone beyond a personal financial matter. We have decided to make the situation public to prevent any further harm." They also emphasized that the loan companies are still making threatening calls to employees and celebrities associated with the agency, and the company is preparing to report the matter to the police and take legal action.

It has been revealed that Mr. A handed over around 1,200 contacts, which include not only employees of the agency but also celebrities, broadcasting officials, and managers from other agencies. In response, the agency has urged anyone who receives threatening calls to report them to the police immediately.

Below is the full text of the official statement from One Hundred:

Hello, this is One Hundred.

We regret to inform you that Mr. A, a manager from Big Planet Made Entertainment, one of our affiliated labels, failed to repay small loans from over 40 illegal loan companies and used the contact information stored in his phone as collateral. As a result, these illegal loan companies have been contacting and threatening him.

Initially, we believed this was a personal financial issue affecting Mr. A alone. However, as of today (16th), we received another threatening call from an illegal loan company, this time demanding that we resolve Mr. A’s financial problems, using abusive language.

Given the severity of the situation, we realize this is not merely an internal matter, and we are sharing this information publicly to prevent any further harm.

Mr. A provided approximately 1,200 phone numbers to these loan companies, which include contacts from Big Planet Made Entertainment employees, celebrities from our company, officials from his previous workplaces, and entertainment industry professionals, including those in broadcasting and other agencies.

Illegal loan companies continue to send threatening calls and text messages to Big Planet Made employees, including former staff members. It is increasingly likely that they will also contact other individuals listed in Mr. A’s phone as time passes.

We are taking this matter very seriously and are preparing to take legal action, including filing police reports against the illegal loan companies responsible for these threats.

We sincerely apologize for the distress caused by the actions of one of our employees and the harm to individuals affected by this breach of trust.

Our staff is currently facing significant disruption, with many unable to carry out their duties due to the relentless threats from these illegal loan companies.

In the future, the contact information that Mr. A handed over may be used to target others. If you receive threatening calls or messages related to Mr. A’s loan situation, we urge you to report them to the police immediately.

Once again, we deeply apologize to those whose personal information was compromised due to the actions of our former employee, and we will do everything in our power to resolve this situation.
