Producer Koala’s Violent History Emerges as Jessi Faces Backlash Over Assault Controversy

Singer Jessi has once again apologized for the controversy surrounding the assault of a bystander by a fan, but suspicions continue to linger.

On the 24th, a YouTuber revealed the murder history of Heo Jae-won (known as producer Koala) on his channel. The YouTuber disclosed that when Heo Jae-won was a 17-year-old assaulted another 17-year-old Korean boy with a blunt weapon at Hawaiian Gardens on December 30, 2005. The victim died on January 2, 2006, after being left to wander.

The YouTuber later claimed that Heo Jae-won was deported to Korea, where he established a music label with Korean acquaintances. He has since been working as a rapper and producer under the name Koala. The YouTuber also alleged that Heo Jae-won assaulted a Korean minor in Apgujeong-dong early in the morning of September 29, 2004, along with a close aide and a member of the triad criminal organization Waching. "I want everyone to know that it was an extremely dangerous moment when the minor could have been killed horribly," he stated, adding that he would soon reveal the identity of the perpetrator.

Despite Jessi's second apology regarding the fan assault incident, the YouTuber has revealed the identity of the perpetrator. While the YouTuber's claims have yet to be verified, YouTube channels, including Dingo, have quickly removed or privatized videos featuring Koala.

Jessi was charged with assaulting a minor fan on the sidelines and was questioned by police on the 16th. She stated it was her first time seeing perpetrator A but faced criticism after it was revealed that she had been in contact with A. Additionally, suspicions arose that producer Koala, who was booked for threatening the victim, had connections to a Korean gang in the United States, while A was linked to Waching, a Chinese triad.

In response to the controversy, Jessi has issued two official apologies. "Everything is my responsibility. I wish I could go back to that time. I have regretted it thousands and tens of thousands of times. Even now, I will try to correct it. It's my fault," she said.
