Mother for 60 years..Senior Actor Jeon Sook Dies At 98

It was belatedly reported that senior actor Jeon Sook (real name Jeon Gap-rye) died at the age of 98.

According to the bereaved family on the 1st, Jeon died at 4:20 am on the 29th of last month in Incheon.

Born in 1926, the deceased began his acting career in 1955 at the suggestion of director Jeon Chang-geun (1907-1972), carrying a child to the wedding scene in the film 『Hill of Buddha』.

As a representative work, 'The Day of the Married'(1956)'The Woman Who Cares'(1960)'Queen Munjeong'(1967)'Chung Yeol-do (1977)'Special Name No. 8'(78)'(1983)' between the knees'(2984)'Amazing Song'(1980)'Hurt'(1987)'Hurt'(1989)'The Mountain Broken Name(1991)'I Call You an Angel'(1992)'Hate'

Until the 2010s, the deceased was active as a minor role for the elderly. He met with the audience as an old mother in 'Gimchijeon: Kimchijeon' (2010), as Miyako in her 90s in the `Last Japanese Military Sexual Slavery" (2014), and as an old woman in the hospital room in"That's My World" (2018). In particular, 'That's My World' was Jeon's last work, and he was 92 years old at the time.

According to the 'Korean Film Information Survey', he mainly played the role of a strict mother or a caring mother.

In 1992, the 30th Grand Bell Film Festival Special Acting Award ('I Call You an Angel') was chosen as a contributing film star at the 39th Film Day celebration in 2001.

Director Shin Jung-kyun wrote on his Facebook page, `I joined the film industry in 1982 and did a number of works in which Jeon Sook starred as a supporting actor or a minor role. When shooting in the provinces, she secretly put a 10,000 won sheet in her pocket, and wrote, `I think this person is the salt of the movie industry.'
