On the 8th (local time), the "2024 MTV European Music Awards" announced that BTS Jimin and Jungkook were nominated for the Best K-Pop category. The largest winner of this category, which was newly established in 2019, is BTS. This year, Jimin and Jungkook were nominated as solo artists, respectively, adding a special meaning.
Jungkook won two awards at the 2023 MTV Europe Music Awards. The solo single 'Seven (feat. Latto)' beat Doja Cat, Miley Cyrus, Olivia Rodrigo, Taylor Swift and others to the song 'Best Song' In addition, it was selected as the best K-pop artist of the year and solidified its status as a representative K-pop solo artist.
The two have continued their long-term success on the U.S. Billboard chart. According to the latest chart released by Billboard on the 8th (October 12), the title song of Jimin's second solo album 'MUSE'Who' was ranked 26th on the main song chart 'Hot 100', up four notches from the previous week. The song 'MUSE' was ranked 103rd on the main album chart 'Billboards 200'. In addition, 'MUSE' was ranked No. 1 on 'World Album' and 'Who' settled on 'Global (excluding the United States)'(12th), 'Global 200'(13th), 'Streaming Song'(20th), and 'Pop Airplay'(26th).
Jungkook ranked 81st with 'Seven (feat. Latto)' on 'Global 200' and 161st with the title track 'Standing Next to You' on his solo album 'GOLDEN'. 'Seven (feat. Latto)' and 'Standing Next to You' ranked 45th and 100th respectively in 'Global (excluding the United States).
Rapper Megan Thee Stallion's 'Neva Play (feat. RM)', featuring RM, has remained in the rankings for four consecutive weeks. The song ranked 194th in 'Global 200' and 193rd in 'Global (excluding the United States).
