Choi Min-hwan Halts All Activities Amid Allegations of Business Ties and Prostitution Scandal

On the 25th, the agency stated, "Although it is difficult for us to fully understand the details of Choi Min-hwan’s personal privacy and marital issues, he feels a strong sense of responsibility for disappointing the public and viewers."
The agency further added, "He has decided to cease all media appearances, including broadcasts featuring his children."
The agency also issued an apology, stating, "We deeply apologize for causing inconvenience and concern to many people."
Earlier, on the 24th, Yul-hee, a former member of the group LABOUM and Choi Min-hwan's ex-wife, stirred up controversy by releasing a transcript alleging that Choi Min-hwan visited a business establishment.
Before revealing the business incident, Yul-hee shared disturbing accounts, saying, "While drunk, he inappropriately touched me in front of our family or placed money in my chest pocket." She added, "We were drinking and playing a game of Go-Stop with the family that day, and I won some cash. At that moment, my ex-husband folded the money and slipped it into my chest pocket when no one was looking. How could I have known it was a habit?" She went on to explain, "Even my father-in-law and mother-in-law were present, but he touched me inappropriately, which I initially thought was just him being affectionate due to the alcohol. But then I started piecing things together and realized, 'This isn't right.'"
Additionally, Yul-hee released what appeared to be a recording of Choi Min-hwan’s voice from July to November 2022. In the recording, Choi Min-hwan is heard discussing discreet visits to a business, saying, "There’s no lady here," and making phone calls where he allegedly says things like, "Please make a reservation," "Tell them to be good to you," and "Send me the payment through Telegram." These revelations have shocked the public. Moreover, when a suggestion was made to take a vacation with their children and his wife, Choi Min-hwan reportedly responded, "Don’t say weird things."

"We cannot obtain a detailed understanding of Choi Min-hwan’s personal and marital issues. However, he takes full responsibility for disappointing the public and has decided to suspend all media appearances, including broadcasts with his children.
