Liam Payne fell from a balcony on the third floor of a hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina, at around 5 p.m. on the 16th (local time), according to CNN and TMZ.
However, the exact circumstances have not yet been determined. TMZ said it was unclear whether the incident was intentional or accidental.
Liam Payne showed abnormal behavior in the hotel lobby before his death, according to several witnesses.
Liam Payne smashed his laptop at the time, eventually being kicked out of the lobby and forced to return to his room.
Authorities are currently investigating Liam Payne's cause of death through an autopsy.
Liam Payne first made his name in 2010 when he appeared on Season 7 of the audition program 'The X Factor' at the age of 16.
