Rosé Makes Waves on Billboard Breaks Records for K-Pop Female Soloists

According to a preview article released by Billboard on the 28th, Rosé's collaboration with Bruno Mars, titled "APT.," debuted at eighth place on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. This marks the highest ranking of Rosé's solo songs and the best performance by any K-pop girl group on the chart. Previously, BLACKPINK's highest record was "Ice Cream," featuring Selena Gomez, which peaked at 13th place.

Rosé is now the fifth K-pop artist to break into the top 10 of the Hot 100, following Psy, BTS, and BTS members Jimin and Jungkook.

Among K-pop female soloists, only Rosé, BLACKPINK's Jennie, Lisa, and 2NE1's CL have entered the chart.

In response to the achievement, Rosé shared her emotional feelings on the 29th. She posted a screenshot of the chart on her personal account, saying, "Oh my God. What's going on? That's amazing! Thank you so much. This is a dream come true!"

"APT." is a pre-released single from Rosé's first full-length album, "rosie," set to be released on December 6. The song is inspired by the slogan of the Korean drinking game known as the "apartment game," and Rosé participated in its creation. Immediately after its release, the song topped major domestic music charts such as Melon, Bugs, Flo, and Naver Music, and it also won the No. 1 trophy on music programs like "M!Countdown" and "Inkigayo."

Additionally, it became the first K-pop song to top both Spotify's U.S. and global weekly charts and reached fourth place on the U.K.'s official Top 100 chart, which is considered one of the two major pop charts alongside Billboard.

The music video has also become a global sensation, surpassing 100 million views on YouTube in just five days.
