G-Dragon was with YG from his trainee days in 2006 until June of last year, when he left the company. During his time with YG, he achieved massive success both as a member of BIGBANG and as a solo artist, producing hit songs like "Lies," "Haru Haru," and "Last Farewell," and releasing solo hits such as "Heartbreaker" and "Crayon."
Despite his departure from YG and signing with Galaxy Corporation in December of last year, G-Dragon expressed his deep gratitude towards his former agency. "Thanks to YG, who helped me become who I am today, I was able to embark on this meaningful journey with Galaxy Corporation," G-Dragon shared. "The YG family that supported me through my years as a trainee, a member of BIGBANG, and as a solo artist will forever remain in my heart."
Galaxy Corporation echoed this sentiment, acknowledging YG’s role in shaping Kwon Ji-yong, G-Dragon’s real name. "We will never forget the glory days with YG and G-Dragon’s journey, and we will continue walking this path of success. We ask for your ongoing support and encouragement."
YG also expressed their parting wishes for G-Dragon, stating, "G-Dragon has been one of our most iconic artists since BIGBANG's debut in 2006. It has been an honor to spend all these years together. We sincerely wish him the best in his new chapter, and we ask fans to continue supporting and encouraging him."
