The 45th Blue Dragon Film Awards: '12.12: The Day' Triumphs

On the afternoon of the 29th, the 45th Blue Dragon Film Awards were held at KBS Hall in Yeouido-dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul. Cheongryong's choice, which was recognized as a fair screening every year, was special again this time.
The Best Picture went to the '12.12: The Day'. The "12.12: The Day" depicts the nine hours of the day that took place in the capital city of Seoul on December 12, 1979, which changed the fate of modern Korean history. Director Kim Sung-soo, who returned after seven years since the release of 'Asura' in 2016, dramatically depicted the confrontation between greed and conviction, and the confrontation between good and evil, showing the essence of the well-mid era and creating a syndrome by mobilizing 13.12 million viewers.
Director Kim Sung-soo said, `I didn't know this movie would go so well. It seems that audiences who love Korean movies have shown special love for our movies. I dare to hope that the audience will continue to pay more attention and affection to Korean movies in the future."
The director's award was given to Jang Jae-hyun, the director of 'Pillow', which received the enthusiastic support of 11.91 million viewers with K-Occult. 'Pillow' was honored with the most awards with four awards, including Best Director, Best Actress, Best Cinematography, and Best Art.
Chang said, `When I was in school, I watched other directors' movies and developed my dreams and ambitions. I don't know what to do just by being nominated, but I'll think of it as an encouragement and be happy to receive it because I'm receiving an award. He thanked actors such as Choi Min-sik, Yoo Hae-jin, Lee Do-hyun, and Kim Go-eun. In particular, he praised Kim Go-eun "I'm so happy that you're a Korean actor" that made Kim cry.
