On the 10th (local time), the "2024 MTV European Music Awards" (hereinafter referred to as 'MTV EMA') announced Jimin as this year’s 'Best K-Pop' winner. This marks the second consecutive year that a BTS member has taken home the trophy in this category, following Jungkook’s win last year. The 'Best K-Pop' category was introduced in 2021, with BTS first winning as a group that year.
Jimin’s second solo album, 'MUSE', and its title track, 'Who', released in July, have been enjoying steady success on global charts for nearly four months. This popularity likely influenced his win at the MTV EMA. Both MUSE and Who have remained on Billboard’s 'Billboard 200' and 'Hot 100' charts for 15 consecutive weeks. They have also charted on the UK’s official charts for 16 weeks, highlighting their international appeal.
'Who' continues to rank high on Spotify, the world’s largest music streaming platform, currently sitting at No. 4 on the latest 'Weekly Top Songs Global' chart (November 1-7). This marks the highest position achieved by a solo track from Jimin, after 'Who' debuted at No. 4 on the UK’s official singles chart (July 26-August 1). In its first week, 'Who' dominated several categories, including 'Single Sales,' 'Single Download,' and 'Physical Single Sales.'
Meanwhile, BTS members are making an impact with their solo projects. Jimin is set to hold exhibitions showcasing his first solo album, 'FACE', and his second, 'MUSE', in Los Angeles on November 29 and in Tokyo on January 10 next year. Jin will release his debut solo album, 'Happy', on the 15th at 2 p.m. This album, featuring various genres based on band sounds, highlights Jin’s growth as an artist, and he is expected to contribute significantly to the album’s production, including writing the song 'I Will Come To You.'
Additionally, RM’s documentary film RM: Right People, Wrong Place, which delves into the making of his second solo album 'Right Place, Wrong Person' (released in May), will premiere on December 5 in over 90 countries and regions, including Korea. V is also set to release a duet, 'White Christmas (with V of BTS)', with legendary pop artist Bing Crosby on December 6.
