Q. Why did you decide to appear on this program?
The purpose of the local regeneration project was good, and I was so curious how it would be expressed if I put color on Lee Jang-woo. Both food and alcohol are categories I love so much and I'm currently into, so I wanted to do more.
Q. (You were the main character in a drama, but you didn't feel pressured to lead a variety show alone?
At first, it was very burdensome. So it took a lot of energy and I wandered a little, but when I went down to Gimje, you helped me in various fields such as residents, MBC producers, and brewing managers in the same village, so I just needed to revitalize.
Q. What's the most memorable episode from the shoot?
The accommodation I stayed while filming in Gimje is Yuho Village, and my grandmother lives in the house right in front of my accommodation. I got very close from the first day, and my grandmother's cooking skills were amazing. I've eaten a lot of food while traveling around the country, but it was the best among them. So, I made the most important menu for our program, which goes best with makgeolli, with the recipe that my grandmother told me.
Q. Spending all four seasons in a rural village would not have been an easy schedule, but what was the driving force behind it?
It was rather the driving force that there was a year. It is quite difficult to create spaces, alcohol, food, etc. that people like. If you put in that much effort, you will be recognized, and no matter how hard you put in, luck must follow. So I'm so happy that it's been a repetition of the things I've been meeting and changing and going back for a year, and I think the results came out well thanks to it.
Q. What was the best thing about living in Gimje for a year?
Gimje has a really excellent plain. When I watched the sunset over the horizon, working hard, drinking a glass of makgeolli at home, all my greed disappeared and I was ecstatic. In fact, I really liked that my affection for Gimje grew and that there was a place where I could go as often as my hometown and I was familiar with it.
Q. He even farmed himself. What was it like when you first heard you had to farm?
'It must be really hard'Your back must hurt' I thought a lot about it. But these days, machines do a lot of things. Of course, farming is difficult, but it seems to be an old saying that it is difficult. I hope our program breaks a lot of thoughts that farming is difficult. When harvesting, it felt like money was coming into my bank account on payday. I felt a lot like my baby beyond the money, so I felt like a waste of money.
Q. Does Lee Jang-woo's special dish also appear in the Rural Village Lee Jang-woo? If I can give you a spoiler?
It was very difficult to combine Gimje and Lee Jang-woo. I thought about it and developed a dumpling with the color of Gimje, but I think you can decide after eating it
Q. I heard that you participated in the development of makgeolli. Can you explain the final makgeolli?
I think the result is so good because many experts are together. We said from the beginning that let's relax a little bit in makgeolli. It's not like let's conquer the country with this makgeolli. Everyone gathered their minds to capture some memories of the former Juksan Village brewery except for techniques and greed, and that heart is contained in makgeolli. The taste of the final makgeolli is clean and refreshing. Feels like the last finish is flying away with all my stress after eating. And I'm not full (laughs). I thought it was just me, but a lot of people say that I'm not full strangely. And our makgeolli has really little burp.
Q. I heard there was a recent opening ceremony. How was it?
So many people, people who have been with me for a year, and my grateful celebrity friends helped me to finish it well with many congratulations. What I felt on the opening day was that I didn't see much greed, such as that the restaurant I participated in should be a landmark in Gimje. We are just Juksan Makgeolli. I hope you remember it as small and delicious as this for a long time to come.
Q. Lastly, can you say something to the viewers who are waiting for the first episode?
I was so happy to do this program. I finished filming in advance, but it is the first time that I have to pay attention to and watch in the future. This guy is bothered several times a day, so that he often checks Gimje in the future, 'Country Village Lee Jang-woo' has settled in the back of his mind. At first, it was an unfamiliar place as if traveling, but over time, the neighborhood becomes familiar and the villagers become familiar. Later, I became so attached to him that he told me to move.
