Yul-hee, formerly of the group LABOUM, has clarified her stance on a custody dispute with her ex-husband, FTIsland’s Choi Min-hwan, through her lawyer.

Lawyer Yang So-young shared on her personal channel a video titled, “The Real Reason Why Yul-hee Started a Custody Lawsuit – Can She Bring Her Three Children?” In the video, Yang explained, “The agency initially approached me, asking if it was possible to change the custodial rights. While there was a possibility, I recommended filing a lawsuit.”

“When custody was initially decided during the divorce, Yul-hee expressed a strong desire to take on the role of primary caregiver rather than leaving the children with Choi Min-hwan,” Yang added. “From the interview negotiations and parenting involvement, it’s evident that Yul-hee has consistently been a central figure in the children's lives, and I believe her designation as the primary caregiver would not significantly alter the children’s circumstances.”

Yul-hee married Choi Min-hwan in 2018, and they had one son and twin daughters. However, the couple divorced in December last year. Last month, Yul-hee publicly accused Choi Min-hwan of sexual harassment during their marriage, prompting him to withdraw from all broadcasts, including KBS2’s 'Superman is Back,' and to pause his FTIsland activities. Additionally, he is under investigation for alleged violations of sexual violence and prostitution laws.

On the 4th, Yulhee filed a mediation application with the Seoul Family Court, seeking changes to the custody arrangement, alimony, and division of property.
