On the same day, Field News reported that Hwang Jung-eum was subjected to an intensive tax investigation by the tax authorities last year.
According to the report, the Seoul Regional Tax Office's Investigation Bureau 2 conducted an irregular tax investigation on actor Hwang Jung-eum with singer and actor Lee Joon-ho in September last year and collected a large amount of taxes.
The background of the tax investigation into Hwang Jung-eum has not been confirmed, but given the nature of the Seoul National Tax Service's investigation into the second bureau, it is analyzed that it is part of the 「Corporate Business Artist Non-regular Planning Tax Investigation」 targeting high-value asset owners.
Earlier, Hwang Jung-eum purchased a building located in Sinsa-dong, Gangnam-gu, for 6.25 billion won in March 2018 under the name of a private corporation she represents and sold it for 11 billion won in October 2021. It earned a market profit of 5 billion won in three years and seven months after purchasing the building.
Hwang also purchased a detached house in Itaewon, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, for W4.6 billion in May 2020. A house with one basement floor to two ground floors (347㎡ of land area and 200㎡ of total floor area) was traded at 44.3 million won per 3.3㎡ (based on land area).
Considering that nearby houses are currently priced at 70 million won to 80 million won per 3.3㎡, the sale price is around 7 billion won to 8 billion won, and the transfer profit alone can be expected to be more than 3 billion won.
The house purchased by Hwang Jeong-eum is located in a place surrounded by Namsan Mountain. In addition to Gyeongridan-gil passing in front of the house, Hangangjin Station on Subway Line 6 is about 1km away, and it is also convenient to move to major areas of Seoul.
