Meanwhile, President Yoon's impeachment was approved with 204 votes in favor, 85 against, three abstentions and eight invalid votes at the plenary session of the National Assembly, with all 300 of the 300 lawmakers attending.
When President Yoon receives an impeachment resolution from the National Assembly on the same day, he will immediately be suspended from his duties as president.
The passing of the impeachment bill came 11 days after President Yoon declared an emergency martial law on the 3rd.
In accordance with the Constitution, the Constitutional Court must decide whether to impeach the President within 180 days from the date of receipt of the impeachment resolution.
