IU's Hater Fined 3 Million Won for Defamatory Comments

Judge Lee Kyung-sun of the Seoul Central District Court sentenced a female hater in his 30s to a fine of 3 million won on the 3rd.
The court stated that "the usual meaning or expression used is judged to be offensive and derogatory personal attacks in context".
A is accused of insulting IU by posting four comments disparaging her costume and singing skills in April 2022.
In the course of the trial, Mr. A is suffering from mental illness, so his sentence skills lag behind. It is difficult to see my comment as a comment to lower (IU's) reputation, and simply my personal preference', and Mr. A's lawyer also argued that he only used partially offensive expressions while expressing his opinion based on objective facts, but the court refused to accept it. Even considering mental illness, it was an insulting expression.
