Judge Lee Kun-hee of the Seoul Central District Court ruled in favor of the plaintiff on the 18th, saying in IU's lawsuit for damages against A, "'A compensates IU 30 million won.'"
In May last year, A filed a complaint with the police, accusing IU of violating copyright law by plagiarizing six songs, including 'Pink God'"'Good Day'Bibbi'Bibbi'Bubu'Celebrity'. Mr. A is not the original author of these songs, but an ordinary citizen.
In order for copyright infringement to be established under the Copyright Act, it is necessary to participate in creative activities such as composition. However, IU only participated in composing 'celebrity' and producing 'Bibbi' and did not touch other songs. In the case of 'celebrity', which was the only one who participated in the composition, the part that A took issue with and the part that IU participated in were different.
In the end, the police decided to dismiss the accusation in August of the same year.
In response, IU filed a lawsuit against A for damages for defamation, infringement of personal rights, and innocent acts.
However, Mr. A continued to respond to the stage, and the court proceeded with the trial through the public service procedure.
In addition to A, IU conducted legal action against the haters who spread defamation, death threats and invasion of privacy due to unfounded plagiarism allegations, and malicious and false facts.
The agency said "There is a person who is believed to be IU's middle school alumnus. We are responding because we are found to have continued to harass IU despite the ongoing incident."
