Earlier in the day, an aircraft from Bangkok left the runway while landing at Muan International Airport in Fiji, Mangun-myeon, Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do. The plane was Jeju Air Flight 7C2216, which was scheduled to depart Bangkok and arrive at Muan International Airport at 8:30 a.m. that day.
According to the National Fire Agency, 80 people have died so far as of 13:11 p.m. that day. There are 99 people missing and two injured. There are a total of 181 passengers, 175 passengers and six crew members.
