Meanwhile, according to the fire authorities, a Jeju Air flight from Bangkok with 181 people on board caused an accident at 9:03 a.m. on the 29th while landing on the runway at Muan International Airport in Jeollanam-do. The plane made a fuselage landing on the runway with the landing gear inoperative due to a malfunction believed to be a tidal current collision, and exploded significantly when it crashed into the outer wall of the airport without slowing down.
181 people, including 175 passengers and six crew members, were on board the plane, and 176 people have been confirmed dead so far. There are only two survivors on board the tail. They were transferred to Mokpo Korean Hospital and Mokpo Central Hospital, respectively, and then transferred to a hospital in Seoul.
So far, about 40 passengers have been identified, and the fire authorities plan to conduct a search until all the remaining missing people are found.
