Actor Lee Young-ae filed a claim for damages against a YouTuber who claimed to be close to Kim Gun-hee over her donation, but lost the first trial.

The 12th Civil Agreement Division of the Seoul Western District Court (Chief Judge Jinyoung Kim) ruled on the 20th that Lee Young-ae lost a lawsuit against Jeong Chun-soo, former CEO of the YouTube channel Open Sympathy TV, worth 250 million won.

In October, the court made a decision to recommend reconciliation by suggesting the deletion of the video in question to former representative Chung, a ban on broadcasting related to Lee Young-ae and Kim's friendship, and reflecting Lee Young-ae's position when broadcasting Lee Young-ae's political orientation.

However, Lee Young-ae submitted an objection to the court on the 12th of last month that the recommendation could not be accepted. Former representative Chung also filed an objection with the court on the same day. Reconciliation in court has the same effect as the final judgment, but if an objection is filed, the conclusion will be made through trial. This issue also went through such a procedure.

Earlier in September last year, Lee Young-ae donated 50 million won to the Presidential Memorial Foundation, which is seeking to build the Presidential Memorial of Rhee Syng-man. Sympathy TV, which was open about this, reported that Lee Young-ae and Kim were involved. Since then, Lee Young-ae's side has filed a lawsuit with the court against former CEO Chung, claiming that Open Sympathy TV has spread false information.
