The Korean Committee for UNICEF announced on the 24th that NCT Jaemin donated 100 million won in funds to support children around the world under the name of his fan club NCTzen DREAM.
The fund was raised with proceeds from the sale of frames prepared by NCTzen DREAM at NCT Jaemin's first personal photo exhibition 'NARCISSISM - JAEMIN 1st EXHIBITION' in June.
The fund, delivered under the name of NCT DREAM fan club NCTzen DREAM, will be fully supported for the warm winter of children around the world who are having a hard winter due to war and natural disasters.
Earlier, in 2018, Jaemin visited Hanoi and Contoum regions in Vietnam with UNICEF's Korean Committee to support music education for underprivileged children. Since 2015, NCT agency SM Entertainment has been supporting music education projects for underprivileged children in Vietnam and the Philippines for 10 years under a social contribution pact with the Korean Committee of UNICEF.
Jaemin "I wanted to do something meaningful with my fans to repay them for their precious love. I hope it will help all children welcome the warm end of the year," he said.
Cho Mi-jin, Secretary-General of UNICEF Korea, said "I sincerely thank Jaemin and his fans for sending special gifts to children for the end of the year."The funds you sent me will be used dearly for children around the world who are spending a harsh winter due to war, disasters, poverty, etc. " he said.
UNICEF (United Nations Children's Fund) is the only organization that explicitly mentions its role in promoting children's rights in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, and is a U.N.-affiliated organization that conducts projects such as health, nutrition, drinking water and sanitation, education, protection, and emergency relief for children around the world. As a representative organization of UNICEF in Korea, the Korean Committee of UNICEF raises funds for children around the world and promotes children's rights in Korea through UNICEF Child-Friendly Society Creation Project. The Korean Committee for UNICEF, which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, is the only national committee that has become an advanced country-type national committee to help in a developing country.
