NewJeans Continues Its Bold Path Amid Contract Termination Controversy and Collaboration with Min Hee-jin

What attracts attention is that Min Hee-jin, former CEO of A-Door, was named in the credit as a special creative director, and that he used his real name instead of the group name NewJeans.

NewJeans said it would terminate its exclusive contract with Adore effective Nov. 29. At the time, the members argued that the contract was terminated because Adore violated the exclusive contract and did not accept the request for correction, and that there was no obligation to file a separate lawsuit or compensate for the penalty. They also expressed their desire to be with former CEO Min after completing all the existing schedules.




In this regard, some have raised suspicions of tampering. Former CEO Min had a meeting with an investment company through the eldest father of a member of NewJeans. Dispatch released a photo capturing former CEO Min meeting with an investor and the uncle of a NewJeans member, while also releasing an interview that he talked about investment with former CEO Min. However, Min sued the reporters who reported the article, saying, `All are groundless.'

Nevertheless, suspicions did not disappear, and the Korea Management Association, the Korea Entertainment Producers Association, and the Korea Music Content Association issued a statement to withdraw the notice of termination of NewJeans ' exclusive contract. In particular, the Korea Music Contents Association pointed out the allegations of tampering and demanded a detailed explanation. If he fails to clarify the allegations, he took a hardline stance, saying he is also considering excluding singers involved in the tampering allegations from charts or awards ceremonies.
