Nabe, a theater company led by Kim Sun-young, will perform a dramatization of Anton Chekhov's representative work 'Seagull' (organizer/production company Nabe, adaptation/director Lee Seung-won).
Celebrating the 10th anniversary of the founding of the theater company NabeThe Segal is a reinterpretation of Anton Chekhov's masterpieceThe Seagull against the backdrop of modern Korea. Director Lee Seung-won, who has established himself as a powerhouse in black comedy through films such as `Communication and Lies', `Happy Birthday` and `Three Sisters`, is expected to maximize the comedy of the original while sharply shedding light on the other side of his life.
The film will feature outstanding actors such as Kim Yong-joon, Kim Yoon-joo, Park Ji-hoon, Kim Kwon-hoo, Nam Soo-hyun, Kim Ae-jin, Kim Kyung-deok, Park Dam-i, Kwon Yong-jin, Kim Sung-min, Son Chae-woo, and Kim Dong-ryul to cheerfully unravel the love, conflict, and distorted relationship between the characters, while depicting the desires and contradictions of each character.
Nabe, a theater company that has been showing black comedy creative plays that penetrate reality, is expected to faithfully capture Anton Chekhov's essence of realism in this 'The Segal'.
