Jonghyun was found dead at a residence in Seoul on December 18, 2017. He was 27.
In the suicide note of the deceased, who suffered from depression during his lifetime, "What more do you say. Just tell me you did a good job. You did a good job. Tell them you did a good job. If you can't laugh, don't let me go blaming you. You did a good job. You did a great job. It is said that the words "Hello" are written.
The bereaved families established a light foundation with the copyright fees left by Jonghyun in 2018 and are conducting a scholarship project for young artists who are having a hard time without an agency. In particular, it establishes and operates a center for psychological counseling and healing, helping youth and young artists engage in literary activities with a healthy mind.
Last year, Kim So-dam, the secretary-general of Bitina, the elder sister of the deceased, said, `I couldn't come up to the surface, but now I'm looking for ways to share my inner story.' `I think there must be stories that I wanted to tell but couldn't tell, and stories that I agonized over alone. I think there will be a way for us to overcome the difficulty of being alone. I hope we don't get stuck in that time and come out together and have a time to overcome it together," he said.

Jonghyun is a radio show. I'm JRThrough ', he communicated directly with listeners from February 2014 to April 2017.
