SBS and Netflix Forge Alliance to Expand Korean Content Globally

Netflix and SBS signed a strategic partnership at the SBS Broadcasting Center in Mokdong, Seoul. SBS President Moon Jae-in and Netflix's Korean content VP (Vice President) attended the signing ceremony. This partnership is a strategic stepping stone for synergy that the two companies can win-win. SBS will promote global expansion of content, while Netflix will realize the value of subscriptions and provide members with various experiences.

SBS has been promoting global expansion of K contents with high-quality content production know-how that can work on the global stage beyond the domestic market. Just as the BBC, which has more than 100 years of history, has secured global competitiveness through partnerships with Netflix, SBS has also made a decision to expand its competitiveness. Through collaboration with SBS, Netflix will also be able to expand the range of Korean contents presented to domestic and foreign members and actively expand the value of subscriptions.
Kang Dong-han, VP of Netflix, who attended the business agreement ceremony, said, `A new milestone in the cooperation between SBS and Netflix in promoting the excellence of Korean-style storytelling to the world.' `Hopefully, SBS's innovative vision and Netflix's passion for Korea will create a new golden age for K-content that will continue for more than 100 years.'
