At the end of this year, the heart-warming twilight youth romance STUDIO X+U's drama 「When the Silver Bell rings」 (scripted by Hong Yoon-jung/director Choi Byung-gil) continues to make headlines by ranking first in the number one contribution to new U-Play subscriptions during the launch week. In 'When the Silver Bell rings', Park Geum-yeon (Song Ok-sook) and Sung Nak-won (Park Sang-won) presented a romance in their 60s that caused excitement among viewers by expressing their feelings honestly rather than being scared by the eyes of the world. Song Ok-sook said, `I wish I could look beautiful in love itself"I asked you to look at 'Dawn Love' with affection. Park Sang-won also said, "Mature time is painted over, so it can be a more sincere feeling than green love.", Nong-ik prided himself on his adult romance. The following is a question and answer between Song Ok-sook and Park Sang-won of 'Adult Taste Couple'.
Q1. I wonder why you chose to appear on 'When the Silver Bell rings'. I'm also curious about how you felt when you first saw the script.
Song Ok-sook (hereinafter Song): The genre of senior romance itself was unfamiliar. I was not used to being a melodrama because the characters I had previously played mainly strong and charismatic roles, and I had a vague fear to challenge myself now. However, I was also lucky to meet a work that has feminine aspects and accumulated inner femininity can be seen as a woman. Before I got older and disappeared, I wanted to melt it into my work. That's how I decided to appear.
Park Sang-won (hereinafter referred to as Park): At first, unlike today's contents, where the main target is young people, they were attracted to fresh materials for middle-aged people for the first time in a long time. But when I looked at the script, it felt like a universal and beautiful Christmas love story that anyone of all ages could relate to.

Song: Non-smoking is a character named the Korean hanbok master. I live with my husband in a loveless marriage and then I die early. After that, he has lived hard until he became a hanbok master while raising his son. There is not only one part to make a character, so rather than focusing on one part, I tried to be comfortable thinking that the character was me.
Park: I think paradise is a romantic hidden in the daily lives of middle-aged professionals. I tried to enjoy the free deviation that this paradise has forgotten for a long time without pretending and value the relationship and time given.
Q3. What are some similarities between you and your character?
Song: I think it's similar that we only worked hard on one road. Although it is revealed in the work, quitting smoking is a very active and honest character, and I also felt the same way that I am active, honest, and sometimes straightforward.
Park: There is no difference between the paradise of free deviance and the Senate. They're both 'romantists' and 'romanticists' I would say that the paradise that I was hesitant about is within the framework of ideas that I fight over every day. My daily life as an actor and an artist is in the continuity of work that has to go beyond the framework of so many ideas.
Q4. I wonder how it was working with your counterparts. If you have a memorable episode on the set, please tell us one.
Song: In Park Sang-won's first male protagonist debut, the opposite female protagonist was me. However, we've never met through work since then, but we've both been teaching children in college for over 20 years, so we had a lot of common denominators of conversation. I also enjoyed the process of analyzing and treating works and characters and exchanging opinions and discussing them in depth.
A memorable episode on the set was when I had a day close to deviant and met Sung Paradise again in an unexpected place where I thought I would never meet again. When I was panicking because I didn't know what to do, I held a wine glass and drank it, but the glass was empty. I thought it could be an NG, but there was a situation and it was fun, so I kept acting without interrupting, and all the staff and actors laughed. I saw that scene on the show. It becomes a famous line and a famous scene when an actor makes an unexpected mistake or ad-lib to cover the mistake, but for me, the situation was embarrassing but fun.
Park: Song Ok-sook was my counterpart in my debut film, MBC's best-selling theater 'Gang'(1987). For the next 37 years, I couldn't meet him through his work, but I met him again in this work. Perhaps that's why I was familiar with it as if I had met an old friend, and on the other hand, it was as new as the gap of 37 years.
The most memorable thing was that the first shooting was in Insa-dong on the weekend. It was a difficult, difficult, and uncomfortable situation because it was filmed on a crowded street, but I was very happy to see even the citizens on the street cheering with affectionate eyes, and it was very new to remember working vividly.
Q5. 'When the Silver Bell rings' is a work depicting various loves of seniors, but if you define what you think 'Senior's Love', how would you like to express it?
Song: When I talk about senior's love, I usually think of love as a parent for my children, and is it possible for men and women to love senior as well? There seem to be preconceived notions that question '. At the beginning of this work, instead of defining it as the love of seniors, what we were trying to show was to paint it beautifully because love is a beautiful thing in itself, no matter what age or situation. "I wish I could look beautiful in love itself."We filmed it with the mindset of ', and while filming, the production crew looked at us and said we were lovely, so we worked with a thankful heart.
Park: Of course, trying something new, including love, is as scary and difficult as the years of your life, but I think those new things that will make you feel alive can be the driving force and create a relationship as deep as that life. In other words, I think the mature time I have lived is painted over, so it can be a more sincere emotion than fresh love.

Song: I'd be lying if the kiss scene wasn't burdensome. There was also a physical burden, but I also thought a lot about how to express it and how to kiss it. The important thing is that we thought a lot that our love should not look ugly, and it should be beautiful. Park Sang-won has a lot of things to be thankful for, and the goals and thoughts for this god were the same, so while preparing for the shoot, I was able to prepare my mind and reduce awkwardness by rehearsing enough details such as eye contact, hand movements, and movement. Thanks to this, I was able to film it like a rehearsal. With Park Sang-won's consideration and delicacy, I was able to do my part faithfully by immersing myself in a situation that could be inconvenient. I can see this scene with my husband after I'm done filming, and I wonder what his reaction would be
Park: It was quite burdensome because it was an unfamiliar meeting with an old friend. However, actor Song and I had accumulated time as actors, so fortunately, we were able to shoot without much difficulty. Rather than being a kiss scene, I think it was an important scene where we meet each other's feelings honestly.
Q7. Please say hello to the viewers as you tell them what kind of work you want to remain in "'When the Silver Bell rings.'"
Song: 'Silver' symbolizes gray hair and refers to the older generation, but I've reached this age that I didn't think of in my life. If anyone lives their life, they will get old from young to middle-aged and old, but I think it is more accumulated and compressed and deepened rather than feeling afraid of life in old age or retreating backward. Love is not just a privilege or exclusive property for young people, but it's okay to dream about it even when you get olderI hope you can think of it as a work of ' And I'd appreciate it if you could remember that actor Song Ok-sook is still 'an actor who can play this role' and 'an actor with a wide range'.
Park: I hope it will remain a warm Christmas episode that will permeate even rare middle-aged people at the end of the year. Today, I hope that even young friends will be remembered as a long-breathing work where they can take it out again at this time of the year and feel it differently and smile. Merry Christmas Happy New Year with 'When the Silver Bell rings!'
