ADOR Files Injunction to Block NewJeans Members from Independent Contracts

The injunction is aimed at preventing members of NewJeans from engaging in advertising contracts and advertising activities independently without the approval or consent of Ador until the first trial ruling of the 'Exclusive Contract Validation Procedure' filed with the Seoul Central District Court on December 3 last year.
Ador's application for the provisional injunction is aimed at preventing confusion and damage to third parties, including advertisers, as NewJeans members who unilaterally declared the termination of their exclusive contracts continue to attempt to sign contracts by contacting advertisers independently.
The fact that the members' unilateral claim to terminate the exclusive contract is unfair will be confirmed through the exclusive contract validation office filed by Ador. However, since it could take a considerable amount of time for a final ruling, we were forced to apply for an additional provisional injunction to urgently prevent the current confusion.
This provisional injunction application reflects Ador's intention to be with the members of the New Jeans. If the market and industry continue to be confused by the members' independent actions, the brand value of Ador's only artist, NewJeans, will inevitably fall, and as a result, Adore will lose competitiveness as an agency and face a management crisis. It also reflected the judgment that even if the original ruling was made that the exclusive contract was valid years later, it might not be possible to restore it to its original state.
In a provisional injunction application, Odor appealed to the court that there must be an opportunity to correct misjudgment or conduct before legal liability can be expanded out of control even for NewJeans. He also expressed concerns across the industry that `if the company unilaterally declares the termination of exclusive contracts and sets a precedent for independent entertainment activities without legal procedures, investment incentives in the entertainment industry will disappear and the foundation of the K-pop industry will be shaken and greatly contracted.'
Meanwhile, Ador has consistently supported all personnel and facilities for NewJeans' entertainment activities in line with the position that the exclusive contract with NewJeans is valid, and plans to continue to do so. Additionally, Adore has been offered a number of projects from outside, including advertising and events, and internally, he has already planned and completed this year's activities, including the release of a regular album and a fan meeting, so that he can fully communicate with the members of NewJeans.
