Ahn Hyun-mo apologized for everything a lack of heartbreak

Broadcaster and interpreter Ahn Hyun-mo eventually posted an apology for leaving an inappropriate tribute to the Jeju Air plane disaster.

On January 1st, Ahn Hyun-mo said, "There was a lack of me because I tried to convey my sorrow."There is no way to press your heartbreak. I would like to express my sincere condolences to the bereaved families who must have suffered greatly from this. We pray for the rest of those who have died."

Earlier on Dec. 30 last year, Ahn posted a photo of the airport on his personal account, saying, `I'm on the plane on Friday, Saturday, and today, but everything I fly and get off was luck. Everything was appreciated. The more I think about it, the more I can breathe in and out, the more heartbroken I am." It was to commemorate the Jeju Air disaster at Muan International Airport on Dec. 29.

At that time, a Jeju Air plane carrying 181 passengers crashed into the outer wall of the runway during landing at Muan International Airport, causing a major disaster that killed 179 people and injured two others. Accordingly, the government declared Muan-gun a special disaster area and designated it as a national mourning period from the 29th to the 4th of next month.

Of course, Ahn Hyun-mo's writing was meant to commemorate the victims, but some expressions "that everything was luck" caused controversy. Some netizens pointed out that the use of the word 'luck'thank you' in memorials is careless and can provide an excuse for misunderstanding. In particular, Ahn Hyun-mo criticized that he should have paid more careful attention to the language because he was a professional interpreter.

As the controversy grew, Ahn Hyun-mo closed the comment section of the post and eventually deleted it as the controversy continued.
