Ahn Hyun-mo said on the 30th "I've been on the plane for days on Friday, Saturday, and today, but everything I flew and got off was luck. Everything was appreciated. The more I think about it, the more I can breathe in and out, the more heartbroken I am."
Ahn Hyun-mo posted a photo with a panoramic view of the airport, stating that it was about the Jeju Air plane disaster, and voices of criticism poured out.
"It's ridiculous to mention luck in a disaster situation" Criticism continued such as "'I don't know it's a word that can hurt the bereaved family, but..."
In response, Ahn Hyun-mo closed the comment section of the post and eventually deleted the post as the controversy did not subside.
Earlier, at 9:03 a.m. on the 29th, a Jeju Air flight 7C2216 from Bangkok, Thailand, exploded after colliding with the wall of the airport's outer wall during an emergency landing at Muan International Airport in Jeollanam-do.
A total of 181 passengers, including 175 passengers and six crew members, were on the plane, and all but two Thais were confirmed to be Korean passengers.
The accident killed all 179 passengers except for two crew members.
Accordingly, the government declared Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do, a special disaster area, and designated seven days as a national mourning period until 24:00 on the 4th of next month.
