Arum from Tiara, who was suspended from prison, disagrees with the ruling on child abuse and defamation... the submission of an appeal

Arum, a former member of the group T-ara, who was sentenced to a suspended prison sentence for child abuse and defamation, appealed against the first trial's ruling.

According to the industry on the 28th, Arum filed an appeal through her legal representative on the 23rd and expressed her position to continue the trial.

Earlier on the 16th, the Suwon District Court sentenced Arum, who was indicted without detention on charges of exploitation and inducement of minors and violation of the Information and Communication Network Act (defamation), to eight months in prison and two years of probation. It also ordered 40 hours of lectures on child abuse prevention.

Arum is accused of emotionally abusing her children by swearing at her ex-spouse in front of her children, and of defaming A, who disclosed the ruling on her boyfriend B, on an Internet broadcast.

According to the ruling, Arum spoke during an Internet broadcast in April last year, meaning that B's court ruling, which was released by A, was fabricated. In response, the first trial court judged that "there was willful negligence in the charge of defamation, and considering the relationship with the victim, the purpose of slander is recognized.'

In addition, regarding the child abuse allegations "The person admitted all charges and should be greatly criticized for causing mental damage to the legitimate custodian of the victim child.", he pointed out.

The court suspended the execution of the sentence in consideration of the fact that he did not receive forgiveness from victim A, Arum admitted to child abuse, and that the victims were handed over to custody. On the same day, Arum's mother was also indicted on charges of child abandonment and neglect and sentenced to four months in prison and one year of probation.

However, as Arum objected to the ruling and filed an appeal, a court battle is expected to continue in the future.

Meanwhile, Arum debuted as a member of the tiara in 2012, but left the team in 2013. Since then, he married an older businessman in 2019 and had two children, but controversy over his family history has continued as he reported the divorce in December last year.
