Director Hwang Dong-hyuk expressed his thoughts on sharing the 'Squid Game 2'

Director Hwang Dong-hyuk met with Sports Chosun at a cafe in Jongno-gu, Seoul on the morning of the 2nd to interview the original Netflix series 'Squid Game 2' (played by Hwang Dong-hyuk, directed) and mentioned the sharing of 'Dognam', which has become a hot topic overseas.

Director Hwang Dong-hyuk said, "I wanted to talk a little more about the booger guy.""I wanted to tell the story of a scab guy in the first episode. I wanted to give clues even if I didn't explain in detail what kind of person this person was and why he became this person. Gong Yoo said, "I worked with him on a piece called 'Dogani', and although it's been a long time, he did a good job in the form of a special appearance in season 1, so I thought I wanted to try it again in a fun way."

Director Hwang then said "I was very surprised while filming. I wanted to kill this character really cool, so I paid attention to the script, but the energy shown on the set was enormous. He's the first villain in his life, saying he's never played a villain. He was a very mysterious villain, so he had a strong will to do it in a cool way, and sometimes he gave me a force that seemed to press (Lee) Jung-jae on the spot, so I was surprised while filming it. He showed all the acting in a take or two. I found out while filming because he also unleashed unexpected expressions and energy. It occurred to me that Gong Yoo's life acting, the life god, came out. Everyone seems to have felt it as well."

'Squid Game 2' is a story about a fierce battle between Ki-hoon'(Lee Jung-jae) who returns to play after vowing revenge, and 'Frontman'(Lee Byung-hun) who greets him, and a real game that begins again. Since its release on December 26, it has recorded 68,000,000 viewers (view time divided by the total running time of the work) in four days, topping the global TOP 10. In addition, the first week alone ranked seventh in Netflix's all-time most popular series (non-English), setting a record for the highest number of viewers in the public week. This is a record that far exceeds the 50.1 million viewers in the first week of 'Wendday'. Season 1 is also ranked third in the Global Top 10 Series (non-English), drawing enthusiastic responses from viewers around the world.
