Yoo Yeon-seok met with Sports Chosun at the King Kong by Starship headquarters in Gangnam-gu, Seoul on the morning of the 6th and had an interview with the end of MBC's Friday-Saturday drama `The Phone You Called Now' (played by Kim Ji-woon, directed by Park Sang-woo and We Deuk-gyu).
Yoo Yeon-seok met a new character Baek Sa-eon and a new modifier 'Sexy Eyebrows' through 'The phone you've called now is', and Yoo Yeon-seok wanted to show the feeling of a person who can't even talk easily. I had no choice but to get a cold-headed call that my wife had been kidnapped. So, when filming, the eyebrows were naturally narrowed. The makeup was also trimmed neatly and shaved like 'Angry Birds'. After filming, my eyebrows didn't open well for a while. At the production presentation, the atmosphere was hard, so I talked about 'sexy brow' as a nickname, but it has been attached ever since. There was a 'sexy-looking remark' attached to it."
Yoo Yeon-seok also loses and maintains weight to act as Baek Sa-eon. He "I was on the stage of the musical 'Hedwig' until 15 days before I started filming, and I was losing weight because I kept dragging the performance for 2 hours and 40 minutes by myself, and I thought I didn't have to gain more weight in that condition." I thought it would look sharp to go with that feeling, so I continued filming. While filming, it's not as easy as I thought to film romance in a thriller. More than 80% of me are in it, so there are so many filming dates that I think I've naturally maintained my weight.
Yoo Yeon-seok then wrote "I lost about 5~6kg from my original weight. He added, "I basically weigh about 74kg, and I lost up to the late 60kg period."
Yoo Yeon-seok also expressed his gratitude for Baek Sa-eon, the character of 'Jijeojeon'. He added "It's not easy to even get a character or nickname that becomes an idiom, and it's not easy to change it. Like always some tag, some modifiers and characters can remain after 10 years. Thankfully, there are some works in the character of Saran that have been done recently, such as 'sexy brow', but I think he is a grateful character as an actor for making another modifier.
'The Phone You Called Now' is based on a web novel of the same name, depicting the secret romance thriller of a showwindo couple in their third year of political marriage, which began with a threatening phone call. Yoo Yeon-seok portrays Baek Sa-eon, a spokesman for the presidential office, and depicts a romance with Chae Soo-bin, who plays Hong Hee-joo. 'The Phone You Called Now' recorded 8.6% of the viewership in the final episode, and according to the end (Nilson Korea's national standard) and Netflix's top 10 official website, 'The Phone You Called Now' ranked fourth in the global non-English TV show category as of the fourth week of December (23-29).
