On the 31st of last month, Jason posted a message on his personal account, "I hope I can help you a little bit" and the news of the donation was delivered in memory of the victims. He then went on to pray for the repose of the deceased," he said, expressing his deepest condolences.
According to the donation certificate, Jason and Hong Hyun-hee delivered 20 million won to the National Disaster Relief Association in their names. Their donation is intended to console the victims of the Jeju Air disaster and their bereaved families.
At around 9:03 a.m. on the 29th, Jeju Air Flight 7C 2216 departing from Bangkok, Thailand, for Muan International Airport left the runway and crashed into the outer wall of the fence, causing a major disaster. 179 people, including 175 passengers and four crew members, were killed in the accident, and only two crew members were rescued from the rear of the aircraft.
The entertainment industry is also expressing deep condolences over the tragedy. The planned awards, performances, and comeback promotions have been canceled or postponed one after another, and celebrity donations are continuing. Earlier, broadcaster Park Na-rae, comedian Lee Seung-yoon, and Jin of the group Lovelyz participated in the donation, and chef Ahn Yoo-sung prepared 200 servings of gimbap for the bereaved families and visited Muan International Airport in person.
