JK Kim Dong-wook, who was accused of violating foreign political activities, strongly protested "suppression of freedom of expression"

On the 17th, JK Kim Dong-wook posted on his SNS, "The first accusation of his life was made."Along with the article, " shared a link to an article that a netizen reported him for violating a clause prohibiting foreign political activities.
He "You all remember vividly the appearance of so many Chinese people at the Korean rally, don't you? They said, "I don't know if everyone is doing well." He pointed out that the accusation against him was against equity. Then "I wonder when the free Republic of Korea was a country that suppressed freedom of expression.", expressing dissatisfaction with the reality that expressing political opinions is problematic.
JK Kim Dong-wook then added his position by explaining his nationality and background in detail regarding the controversy. He also introduced his school days and immigration process, saying, `I was born in Samyang-dong, Gangbuk-gu, Seoul, and immigrated to Canada after dropping out of the second grade of Yeongo Elementary School, Summer Middle School, and Daejin High School.'
Earlier, JK Kim Dong-wook publicly expressed his opposition to President Yoon Suk Yeol's impeachment and raised his political voice. He posted a photo with the Korean national flag and the American flag in the background and posted "Protecting the President is protecting the country" and expressed a strong stance "Disappointed fans don't care whether they are disappointed or not" as criticism poured out.
In response, some netizens filed a report, raising the opinion that intervening in Korean politics as a foreigner could be a legal problem. Some others say that freedom of expression should be respected, so the controversy is unlikely to subside easily.
The relevant laws of the Republic of Korea that restrict foreigners' political activities are specified in the Immigration Control Act and the Public Official Election Act. However, legal interpretation is needed to determine whether the remarks on social media fall under the relevant provisions.
