Min Hee-jin Files Lawsuit Against HYBE Over NewJeans Dispute

The first hearing of the 12th Civil Affairs Department of the Seoul Western District Court will be held on the afternoon of the 10th, when BELIFT LAB and Source Music filed a lawsuit against former representative Min.
Former CEO Min held a press conference in April last year when Hive accused him of professional malpractice and said, `ILLIT is copying NewJeans in all areas of entertainment, including hair, makeup, choreography, photos, and video appearances", "HYBE promised to debut NewJeans as the first girl group in Hive, but made Le Seraphim debut first. I didn't let him promote NewJeans until Le Seraphim's debut", "I neglected some of the NewJeans members who were part of Source Music.", "Source Music Copied the NewJeans Launch Strategy." made such an argument.

BELIFT LAB explained that there is no claim on the basis of former CEO Min, and that it is not true that ILLIT plagiarized NewJeans' plans. In May last year, he filed a criminal complaint against former CEO Min on charges of obstruction of business and defamation, and filed a lawsuit for damages worth 2 billion won to compensate for the damage caused by it.
In July of the same year, Source Music filed a 500 million won compensation claim, saying that former CEO Min's remarks caused severe damage to Le Seraphim.
In response, former representative Min also launched a counterattack. Former CEO Min sued Kim Tae-ho, CEO of BELIFT LAB, and others on charges of defamation under the Information and Communication Network Act, and filed a lawsuit seeking 5 billion won in damages to BELIFT LAB.

Former CEO Min was dismissed from his position as CEO of Ador in August last year. Since then, not only former CEO Min but also the members of NewJeans have strongly demanded that he return to the leadership, but he has been frustrated repeatedly, and Min announced his separation from Hive in November last year by resigning as an in-house director of Ador.

Meanwhile, on the 10th, Bang Jung-kyu, chairman of Dabolink, discussed the investment of 5 billion won before former CEO Min was dismissed, and at the meeting, former CEO Min asked "Can you bring NewJeans?" Former representative Min did not disclose his position on this.
