Han Myung-sook is known to have been suffering from chronic diseases, and the mortuary will be set up at the funeral hall of St. Vincent's Hospital at Catholic University in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province.




The deceased was born on December 1, 1935, in Jinnampo, Pyongnam, and began his career as a singer on the stage of the U.S. 8th Army Show after passing through the Sun Theater Company after Vietnam.

Han Myung-sook, who was active on the U.S. Eighth Army stage, met composer Son Seok-woo and began her full-fledged singing career, singing Son's song "The Man of the Yellow Shorts" and receiving a lot of love.

Songs were very popular, and in 1962, a movie based on songs was produced.




Han Myung-sook was evaluated as the 'No. 1 Korean Wave Star Singer' for her active overseas activities at the time. The deceased told an anecdote that foreign tourists misunderstood 'The Man of Yellow Shats' as the national anthem.

In 2010, he received a plaque of appreciation from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for his contribution to the development of popular songs.
