Ogem 2 Top, retirement and acting skills controversy..the first interview before and after drugs

Top (Choi Seung-hyun), a former member of the group Big Bang who appeared in Season 2 of Netflix's 「Squid Game」, announced an interview with the media, drawing keen attention.

Netflix said on the 10th that it will conduct a media interview with Choi Seung-hyun, a cast member of 「Squid Game 2」 on the 15th, saying that `Choi Seung-hyun took great courage and decided to meet with reporters.' It is the first time in about 11 years that Top has been interviewed since the 2014 release 'Taza-God's Hand'.

It is the first public appearance since the cannabis incident in 2017, and it is expected to convey a candid stance on public apology and controversy over acting skills.

Earlier, Top appeared in 'Squid Game Season 2' (hereinafter referred to as Squid Game 2) as hip-hop survival runner-up and rapper Thanos buried in society due to drug charges, sparking controversy from the casting stage.

In particular, when 'Squid Game 2' was released, he was criticized by domestic viewers for his poor rap and over-the-top movements, being embroiled in controversy over 'acting'. The role in the play also played the role of a rapper whose career was ruined by drugs, fueling controversy over what looked like Top's own story. Top was charged with smoking cannabis in 2017 and sentenced to 10 months in prison and two years of probation.

Due to the controversy, Top was not named in the interview list of actors and did not show his face at production presentations as well as World Premiere.

Director Hwang Dong-hyuk responded to Top's various controversies by saying, `I auditioned several people, and I chose them because they were the best among them.' `I don't know Choi Seung-hyun, nor am I a fan of Big Bang. It's not to help him come back," he explained, while also saying, `I thought his cannabis case was a long time ago, and I didn't think it would be this unforgivable.'

Meanwhile, Top, a former rapper of Big Bang, was sentenced in 2017 for smoking cannabis before joining the military, and later completed his military service as a social service worker after being released from his position as a medical police officer.
