Jang Yun-ju expanded her spectrum as an actor by meeting audiences at the National Jeongdong Theater for about a month from November 28 to December 29 last year.
Jang Yoon-joo, who challenged the musical for the first time since his debut, played Hyun Suk-joo, a trend setter in the 1930 Gyeongseong era, in Icham, portraying Jang Yoon-joo's unique original and confident personality who breaks the old custom and proudly moves toward the beauty he pursues.
Jang Yoon-joo drew attention by naturally portraying her enterprising side, away from her role of being realistic, evoking the play, and conveying laughter.
- How did you feel after the concert.
▶Actually, I wasn't nervous from the first performance. Strangely, the stage felt comfortable. What made me nervous was the technical part of having to look at the floor because of the gap and stairs of the turntable, and other than those parts, I think I prepared and showed every performance with only a pleasant excitement.

▶ Due to the nature of the musical, singing and rhythmic movements are important, so I sang all the songs I would sing before I stood on the stage. In addition, my goal was to express and discover different Hyun Suk-joo Jang every day. Some days, I boldly expressed my power as a model, some days I expressed it like Meryl Streep in the movie `The Devil Wears Prada,' and some days I tried to show a different stone pillar every day, expressing a lonely and sad Hyun Seok-ju because the world couldn't handle me and didn't recognize me.
-What is the biggest difference between being on stage as a show model and being on stage as a musical actor.
▶I've been modeling for a long time, and it's my first time doing a musical, so I think I'm still careful to feel the difference. The difference is that fantasy is a big area on the fashion show stage, and there was a joy in discovering a new me on the musical stage. As expected, I'm a person who likes music, and I thought the score was still very good because it's been a while since I saw it. And as I said earlier, it was amazing that I was not unfamiliar with any stage.

▶For me, I think 2024 was an extension rather than a 'challenge'. I think it was a grateful and amazing year because I think I showed you the expansion of the area that Jang Yoon-ju can show. It seems that life every day is a series of challenges rather than a genre that I want to try anew. It seems that it is a very necessary part of our daily lives to have the courage and will to challenge and to put the challenge into practice. If I try new things like this all the time, I think I will meet a new genre someday.

▶Honestly, I think I have a lot of regrets. I went on stage hoping to reach the audience as much as I prepared and worked hard. Next time, if we meet again and stand on the stage, I want to appear in a better way and walk freely on the stage. I sincerely thank the audience for visiting the musical 'Ah-cham', which was the first stepping stone.
