The agency, TN Entertainment, said on Lee Chan-won's official SNS account that `We have decided to stop uploading Instagram posts during the national mourning period' and `We extend our deepest condolences to the victims of the accident and the bereaved families.'
The decision is aimed at joining the atmosphere of national mourning related to the Jeju Air plane disaster that occurred on the 29th of last month. The accident occurred when Jeju Air Flight 7C2216 from Bangkok to Muan, Thailand, collided with the outer wall while attempting to land the fuselage on the runway of Muan International Airport. Of the 181 passengers, 175 passengers and four crew members were killed in the accident, with only two surviving crew members.
Immediately after the accident, the government designated January 4 next year as a national mourning period, and in line with this, many events and broadcast schedules in the entertainment industry have been canceled or postponed.
Meanwhile, Lee Chan-won finished the year splendidly by winning the grand prize at the '2024 KBS Entertainment Awards'.
