It's been 29 years since the late Kim Kwang-seok passed away.

Kim Kwang-seok made his debut in 1984 and released several masterpieces including ', 'Soldier's Letter', 'I Loved You', 'The Story of an Old Couple in Their 60s', 'Too Painful Love Was Not Love', 'Too Much to Dust' and 'Too Much to Forget'. The songs are still loved 28 years after his death.

Even after Kim Kwang-seok's death on January 6, 1996, he is still remembered by the public for his songs and voices.




In particular, many singers are still remaking his songs and paying tribute with albums and concerts.

In 2017, the film 『Kim Kwang-seok』 was released, reminiscing about the deceased in another form.

Meanwhile, Jung-gu, Daegu, will hold an event to commemorate Kim Kwang-seok's 29th anniversary at 2 p.m. on the 6th at the outdoor concert hall on Kim Kwang-seok redrawing road.




Judges include Park Ki-young, Kwon Jin-won, Kim Hyung-seok, Shim Hyun-bo, Jung Won-young and Lee Jeok.

The annual memorial event for Kim Kwang-seok, held on January 6, is meaningful as it is sponsored by all consultative bodies and organizations in Jung-gu, Daegu, and Kim Kwang-seok Redraw-gil to revitalize tourism on Kim Kwang-seok-gil.

The event will begin at 2 p.m. with a memorial ceremony in front of the statue of Kim Kwang-seok's whole body, and a memorial performance will be held from 2:30 p.m. It is expected that JTBC 'Sing Again 2' winner Kim Ki-tae, Korea's representative jazz vocalists Ungsan and Nam Ye-ji, and pop jazz band 'Tune Around' will participate to deepen the memorial service by singing masterpieces left by Kim Kwang-seok.
