‘Song Min-ho Prevention Act’ Proposed to Overhaul Service Management System

Yoo Yong-won, a member of the People's Power, proposed the 「Song Min-ho Prevention Act」 on the 6th, which manages service management, such as commuting, vacation, and absenteeism, electronically.
The current law requires social service personnel to sign the daily service situation department in service institutions every day, and allows social service personnel to manage their commuting attendance electronically if necessary. Rep. Yoo proposed the amendment to establish and operate an information system so that social service personnel can manage their services electronically, such as commuting and vacation absences.
The Military Manpower Administration plans to develop an electronic attendance management system by 2026, starting with a pilot operation of an electronic commuting management system for social service personnel belonging to the local Military Manpower Administration in the second half of this year.
Song Min-ho started alternative service as a social service worker in 2023, but was embroiled in suspicions of poor service on December 17 last year. YG Entertainment, the agency, explained that it used other vacations or sick days in accordance with the regulations, saying, `The reason for sick leave is for treatment purposes.' However, even if Song Min-ho did not go to work properly, he disappeared after playing games and was excluded from civil service work because he was a celebrity, which became controversial after colleagues reported that he received preferential treatment.
Accordingly, the Military Manpower Administration requested the police to investigate, but Song Min-ho was released from the convocation on December 23 last year. The police are investigating after securing CCTV and Song Min-ho's personal communication details, and plan to summon Song Min-ho soon.
