Actor Yoo Yeon-seok (41) expressed his feelings about playing 'Jijeon'.
Yoo Yeon-seok met with Sports Chosun at the King Kong by Starship headquarters in Gangnam-gu, Seoul on the morning of the 6th, and was interviewed at the end of MBC's Friday-Saturday drama `The Phone You Called Now' (played by Kim Ji-woon, directed by Park Sang-woo and We Deuk-gyu) and mentioned global interest in 'Jijeon'.
Yoo Yeon-seok "I always start my work with some expectation, but the results are unpredictable, and I didn't expect it to be a hot response. I was surprised when I heard that I was consistently ranked in the top rankings not only in Korea but also abroad, and I am just grateful for loving the work I worked hard on. We received a lot of overseas responses after the last show. I'm just thankful that you're sending a lot of love from South America, Southeast Asia, and other countries" expressed his impressions at the end of the show.
'Jijeon' is based on a web novel, and the lines are rather cringe-worthy' is even criticized for. As a result, there were many netizens who said that Yoo Yeon-seok, who digests this line, should be given the acting award. When asked if he was worried about appearing after seeing the lines, Yoo Yeon-seok said, "I did not consider it from that point of view. When I was reviewing the work, it was a thriller when I was filming Fortune's Day. Did you read this script while watching it?? In the genre of romance thriller, thriller is drawn before romance. When I received the script in the beginning, Sarian's character had many cold images, and when I talked with the production team and the writer, I heard that romance is strengthened as Sarian's history is somewhat removed as a romance thriller. There was also a belief that I could make such a good thing because the main factory (producer) produced a lot of romances and romances. The character of Sageon explained by the artist may look very cool and cold at first, but I chose it because he explained that the warriors are characters that can show various aspects as they are shown."

'The Phone You Called Now' is based on a web novel of the same name, depicting the secret romance thriller of a showwindo couple in their third year of political marriage, which began with a threatening phone call. Yoo Yeon-seok portrays Baek Sa-eon, a spokesman for the presidential office, and depicts a romance with Chae Soo-bin, who plays Hong Hee-joo. 'The Phone You Called Now' recorded 8.6% of the viewership in the final episode, and according to the end (Nilson Korea's national standard) and Netflix's top 10 official website, 'The Phone You Called Now' ranked fourth in the global non-English TV show category as of the fourth week of December (23-29).
