Jung Sung-il met with Sports Chosun at a cafe in Jongno-gu, Seoul on the afternoon of the 18th and interviewed the Disney+ original series 'Trigger' (played by Kim Ki-ryang, directed by Yoo Seon-dong). Jung Sung-il responded to the public interest in 'Trigger', saying, `I feel good because people around me also said they were enjoying it.'
Jung Sung-il made headlines when he played a character born in the 1990s in the play. Jeong Seong-il, who was born in 1980, played a character 10 years younger than his age. In response, Jung Sung-il said "I'm also a victim" When I read the script, I only thought I was about five years younger than my age. But I looked at my resume while watching the show and it said I was born in 1990 so I was surprised. But I didn't do anything to look young. I didn't care and acted. He said, "I didn't care about my age because I played the role of a parachute PD for a second-hand rookie, but there was some aftermath for those born in 1990s."
Jung Sung-il was then criticized a lot. How are you 90. Even though I heard that, it didn't come across to me. In fact, it would not have been easy if I had known first that I was born in 1990. I couldn't appear at all," he said with a smile.
Jung Sung-il then took off his suit and wore light clothes such as training clothes and jeans, and when the response was enthusiastic, "This is what I usually wear. Normally, I don't wear a suit and like a set-up and jeans. Don't you say 'Youngpoity'. These days, I like comfortable clothes because I'm pursuing `Youngpoity.' I wore a lot of clothes I had. The hood is my favorite style and I like setting up, so I didn't pay much attention to clothes."
He also showed his new side as a producer of the MZ generation. Jung Sung-il said "Before that the script came in that direction, like 'Secret Forest' or 'The Glory'. In fact, there were quite a few works that I rejected because I didn't want to limit it to that. So I thought I should expand the spectrum even if it takes time. What was not difficult for me was that as I performed a lot, I was not unfamiliar with various people's age groups or characters. Rather, I wanted to do something that allows me to move more comfortably and freely and express my emotions than when I wore a suit. As a result, after 'The Glory', he played a person from a completely different country like 'Jeon, Lan', and he wore the same suit when filming the movie 'Interview', but he played a character with a different feeling. I chose 'Trigger' because I thought it would be nice if there was something I could do within the realm of what I could do that could show a different side of me", he explained.
"Trigger" tells the story of a terrible investigative journalist pro-pro-pro-pro-pro-production team who first put the camera in to reveal the bad guys' wrongdoings. Jung Sung-il gradually melted into the 'Trigger' team by delaying the limit of new recruits who used parachutes in front of Oh So-ryong (Kim Hye-soo) in the play.
The last episode of 'Trigger' is scheduled to air on the 19th.
