Actor Lee Hyun-wook (40) confessed his painful moment by acting 'Wonkyung'.

Lee Hyun-wook met with Sports Chosun at a cafe in Gangnam-gu, Seoul on the morning of the 19th for the end of the tvN X TVing original series 'Wonkyung' (played by Lee Young-mi, directed by Kim Sang-ho). Lee Hyun-wook confessed that he felt a lot of pressure when it came to playing the historical real person, Taejong Yi Bang-won. He "I couldn't sleep the night before the interview. I also wondered how to say it. I was worried about the Taejong character, and I think there were some things I had to be careful about in that part because I was dealing with historical stories.

Lee Hyun-wook said, `After the first broadcast, my worries doubled. Although I have studied and gone through historical examination, I thought that they could give 100% confidence to everyone who sees them, and even when I met with historical teachers and talked to them, I think people from a certain point of view thought that there could be some inconveniences. "

The first historical drama 'Wonkyung' came to Lee Hyun-wook as a burden. He "It seems that the parts that I cared about the most were historical evidence and prudence in expressing historical figures. Rather than simply acting or doing a work, I used the name of a real person, so I focused on that. I also thought about how to express the gap between parts that are not recorded in history."

It was a little different from Taejong, who had been painted in historical dramas. As the focus is on Queen Won-kyung, viewers who empathized with this added criticism that Taejong's actions were relatively 'manly'. In response to this, Lee Hyun-wook said, `In fact, I thought that since I am a historical person, I would not feel like a villain. I think I was embarrassed and distressed because I expected that everyone would not just think of it as a bad or evil role because they were historically known to everyone. From the perspective of Queen Wonkyung, in fact, it was expected that the concubines and such things were natural in history, and that they would not be accepted now, periodically and emotionally. However, as such a part was highlighted, I thought that how a person named Taejong was one of the famous kings of mother and daughter, and that everyone would know about the backside. But I didn't expect to have a strong preconceived notion of being charismatic and manly."

Lee Hyun-wook also said that Lee Bang-won's feelings for Queen Won-kyung seemed to be expressed as a kind of 'Inferiority': "I feel ambivalent about the word inferiority complex. From Taejong's point of view, I think it was a situation where I was confused about what path to take while running this country rather than feeling such jealousy because I was simply a better woman than myself. The people are also said to be kings who defeated their fathers and went up, and their servants showed distrust and disbelief in their power struggles. In the process, I think there was a stressful part in my thoughts different from mine, or my wife moving in an unorganized state, but doesn't it make sense to talk kindly in the meantime. It was a kind of frustration in expressing emotions, and it was regrettable that such a feeling of inferiority was expressed. I took a lot of behind-the-scenes pictures of Taejong, but I think I had no choice because broadcasting also had a technicality called editing.

It was unintentional, and there were many field fluctuations in various ways. As Cha Joo-young said, the actors' grievances have intensified due to many changes in the field. Lee Hyun-wook also said "When I played Taejong, I played 99% of the time based on love, and I encountered a lot there. Would this be an expression?' It was also confusing and frustrating. In a way, 'Looking like a man' would have been a bad person if I just got angry, but I thought that because I was in conflict, I might have been indecisive and could have been seen that way. (J)In a way, Joo-young must have been more anxious and worried than I was because there were not many records in history of Queen Won-kyung. Because it was the first play expressed from the perspective of Won-kyung, I think psychological pressure must have been severe. Director, I think we studied a lot together and communicated constantly. When I go to the scene, the script is changed, and it's a time where I had to fill the gaps constantly, so I talked a lot, and I think I was very willing because there were a lot of things that the two of them were doing at the time."

Lee Hyun-wook said "Acting people do it with self-confidence, so I tried to be sure and I tried to find the right answer, but I felt that those were not all. I was very upset after I did 'Walking'. I've never regretted it when I didn't do well and couldn't act, but this time, I think there were many moments when I doubted my acting while watching the broadcast. It was really upsetting and I feel like I'm opening up a different perspective as I try to accept it, and I feel like I've grown a lot. It was painful to see that the parts we wanted to express were our own thoughts, seeing that things existed that I wasn't trying to express."

He talked a lot, but now he's saying goodbye in a stable manner. "I think I was more sincere than any other work I did. That's why I felt this feeling a lot, and I think I have more regrets. I'm also worried about who will be, and I think I'll stay long because I can tell you this. It's like Turning Point, which opened up a new perspective for me. While acting, I felt the need to expand my perspective and perspective on how I could be seen by people. In many ways, the pain of growth has been in the 15th year, and I also think that 'Wonkyung' should be sent well.'

"Wongyeong" is a story about a king and a queen who gained power with her husband, King Taejong, and her husband and wife. Lee Hyun-wook played Taejong Lee Bang-won in the play, and performed enthusiastically with Cha Cha Joo-young, who played Queen Won-kyung. 'Wonkyung' ended in favorable reviews, recording a 6.6% viewer rating in the final episode. (National standard for Nielsen Korea paid households)
