Female BJ Sentenced to 7 Years for Blackmailing JYJ’s Kim Junsu

A female BJ who extorted 800 million won by threatening group JYJ and musical actor Kim Jun-soo was sentenced to seven years in prison.

A sentencing hearing was held on the 6th for a woman in her 30s who was arrested and charged with blackmail under the Specific Economic Crimes Weighted Punishment Act at the 11th Criminal Department (Chief Judge Oh Chang-seop) of the Uijeongbu District Court.

On this day, the Korean government sentenced A to seven years in prison as the prosecution demanded.

The court said "A used the victim's weakness to blackmail and extort money for a long time." The nature of the crime, such as the method of crime, the period, and the method of damage, is not good.' However, he revealed the reason for the sentencing, considering that A is reflecting on himself and has no history of criminal punishment of the same kind.

A is accused of extorting about 840 million won by threatening Kim Joon-soo 101 times from September 2020 to October last year. When the relationship with Kim Joon-soo grew apart, A reportedly threatened to distribute secretly recorded conversations in a private relationship out of spite.

At the final hearing last month, Mr. A said, `I want to reflect on myself, repent, be punished sweetly, and return proudly as a member of society," he sobbed.

Mr. A's lawyer also failed to make a rational judgment because Mr. A took drugs. He appealed for leniency, saying, "I made a stupid judgment to pay for drugs."

Kim Jun-su's side said "Kim Jun-su never committed a crime. Mr. A did not stop making threats by exploiting the public's eyes"I'm angry.
