MBC will launch a fact-finding investigation into the death of the late Oyoanna MBC weatherman, who reportedly complained of bullying in the workplace.

MBC will hold a fact-finding meeting on Oyo Anna's workplace harassment on the 5th. This is the first meeting since the launch of the fact-finding committee on the case.

Regarding the death of Oyoanna, who left the world by extreme choice in September last year, it was only recently known that a large amount of suicide notes were found on the deceased's mobile phone. In the suicide note, the deceased reportedly complained of bullying in the workplace, drawing criticism that fellow weather casts were pointed out as the perpetrators of the allegations, and that MBC sat on the sidelines.

In response, Kwon Tae-sun, chairman of the Broadcasting Culture Promotion Association, an MBC management and supervisory organization, raised the need for a full-scale investigation after confirming related facts from MBC and listening to countermeasures.

MBC also confirmed on January 31 to establish a fact-finding committee to confirm the facts about the allegations surrounding the deceased, and completed the selection and composition of the fact-finding committee on the 3rd.

MBC's position is that outsiders will be the chairman and member of the committee to increase the fairness, reliability and objectivity of the investigation, and internal personnel of the company will also participate as members. As a result, lawyer Chae Yang-hee of Hyemyeong, a law firm, was appointed as the chairman of the fact-finding committee, and lawyer Jeong In-jin of Barun, a law firm, was appointed as an outside member.

Starting with the first meeting on the 5th, the fact-finding committee will confirm the facts about the allegations surrounding the deceased, and plans to complete the investigation as soon as possible.

Separately, the Ministry of Employment and Labor has also begun a related investigation. On the 4th, the Seoul Western District Office, which is a related branch, began to check the facts regarding the Oyoanna case, including whether it is a worker. It will also conduct a preliminary investigation into workplace harassment.

The bereaved family filed a lawsuit against a fellow employee of the deceased at the Seoul Central District Court. Some analysts say that the results of the investigation by the MBC fact-finding committee will also affect the lawsuit.
