Actor Lee Young-ae will return to the theater stage after 32 years with the play 'Hedda Gabler'.

The play 'Heda Gabler' is a new production play presented by LG Art Center, which became a sensation in 2024 by mobilizing 40,000 audiences with 'Cherry Blossom Garden' starring Jeon Do-yeon and Park Hae-soo. It will be performed from May 7 to June 8 at the LG Art Center Seoul and LG SIGNATURE Hall, and all actors, including Lee Young-ae, will appear in the previous episode as a one-cast.

Henrik Ibsen's original work 'Heda Gabler' is a work about the psychology of a woman who yearns for freedom under social constraints and oppression and is considered an important classic enough to be called 'Women's Hamlet'. In particular, the main character 'heda', played by Lee Young-ae, is a three-dimensional character who is elegant on the outside but has hidden anxiety, desire, and destructive nature inside. Actress Lee Young-ae, who will show her irreplaceable presence through various characters ranging from 'Dae Jang Geum', 'A Kind Geum Ja-Sea', 'A Spring Day Goes', 'Find Me', 'Maestra', and the drama 'Eun Soo Good Day', which is set to air in 2025, will present another intense transformation on stage through this work.

The actors who have shown outstanding acting skills through various stages will be present in 'Hedda Gabler'. Kim Jung-ho as Heda's husband 'Tesman', Ji Hyun-joon as a judge 'Brak', who constantly puts psychological pressure on Heda in close proximity, Lee Seung-joo as Heda's sleeping lover 'Roebborg', Baek Ji-won as Heda's jealous friend 'Tesman', and Jo Jo-jin as Heda's maid 'Vert'.

The complex psychology and unpredictable development of humans depicted by Ibsen's 'Heda Gabler' have sparked various interpretations and debates on many stages around the world. The performance will be adapted from Richard Eyre, who won the 2006 Laurence Olivier Award for Best Revival, and will be directed by Jeon In-cheol, who is the main character of the 54th Dong-A Theater Award and is called the "Master of Fine Text Analysis". 'Kirie', 'I'm a murderer', Director Jeon In-cheol, who has been praised by critics for solving contemporary issues such as `Women on Earth' and `Mokran Sister" in a unique way, will capture our complex psychology and anxiety living in modern society in Hedda's multi-layered inner world and sharply portray repeated conflicts in the social structure through the people around him.

The first round of ticket sales will begin at 2 p.m. on March 7 through LG Arts Center's Seoul website and major reservation offices.
