Amid suspicions that the cause of death of the late Oyoanna MBC weatherman was bullying in the workplace, the employment authorities have also begun a related investigation.

According to the Ministry of Employment and Labor on the 4th, the Seoul Western District Office, which has jurisdiction, has launched a fact-finding investigation into the Oyoanna case, including whether it is a worker.

An official from the Ministry of Employment said "Apart from the MBC's own investigation, we also need to confirm the facts""By receiving relevant data, we are trying to check how we worked and find out the facts. ""

"Since MBC is not a place to review legal principles, wouldn't it be difficult to judge the nature of workers?" he said. "We will first look at whether it is subject to the Labor Standards Act, and then later look at whether the management has investigated objectively."

Employment authorities will look at Oyoanna's 'Working Personality' The ban on workplace harassment was specified in the Labor Standards Act, and it is expected to consider whether the deceased, who was a freelancer, is also applied as a standard for workers.

Earlier, the Seoul Western District Office of the Ministry of Employment and Labor made a similar judgment regarding the alleged workplace harassment of Hani, a member of the group Newzins. Celebrities are classified as 'exception targets' who are engaged in exclusive contracts rather than workers, and Hani's workplace harassment complaints were administratively terminated without a judgment on the main issue.

Oyoanna turned her back on herself in September last year with extreme choices. Recently, it was belatedly known that a large amount of suicide note was found on the deceased's mobile phone, raising suspicions that the cause of death was distress caused by bullying in the workplace. The bereaved family filed a lawsuit against MBC employee A in the Seoul Central District Court, and MBC decided to form a fact-finding committee to find out the cause and truth of the deceased's death.
