According to local media such as Taiwan's Yonhap News Agency on the 12th, Wang So-so's restaurant brand 'Maryuji' recently tried to open a branch in a shopping mall in Taipei Dazu, Taiwan, but it was finally canceled.
The mall said it was true that the discussion took place, but it was not appropriate to continue the consultation at this point and that the contract was suspended. However, it left the possibility of discussing it again after seeing the situation later.
Taiwanese media analyzed that various scandals surrounding Wang So-bi were behind the project's collapse. After Seo Hee-won's death, controversy over the legacy issue and false claims about the cost of chartered flights spread by him became controversial, and the resulting brand boycott movement affected the business.
In particular, Wang So-so's boycott of restaurant brands has spread on Chinese social media, which seems to have directly hit his business. The Southern Doshibao, a Chinese media outlet, said "His brand 'Maryuji' is also facing a boycott in China due to Wang's scandal."
Wang So-so recently posted on Chinese social media Weibo that `I paid for the charter flight to transport the remains of Seo Hui-won" sparked controversy by posting, and his account was eventually blocked.
In addition, his business image is getting worse after the revelation that he and his mother, Zhang Lan, inflated the sales of the company 'CaoJoy' and sold it to a private equity fund, and were sentenced to 200 billion won in compensation.
Amid this controversy, attention is focused on whether Wang So-so will be able to re-promote his business in Taiwan or whether further legal battles will continue.
