The appeals court of A, a special teacher accused of child abuse of the son of webcomic writer Joo Ho-min, has taken a new turn by resuming his argument.

According to related industries on the 19th, A, who is on trial for violating the Special Act on the Punishment of Child Abuse Crimes and the Welfare of Disabled Persons Act, decided to resume his pleading. As the sentence of the appeal trial, which was originally scheduled for the 18th, has been postponed, attention is being paid to the trial.

At the final hearing of the appeals court held on the 21st of last month, the prosecution demanded 10 months in prison and three years of employment restrictions. The prosecution maintained the original sentence, saying, `The case was rather emotionally abused by the defendant, who is obligated to report child abuse, and the nature of the crime is extremely poor.' The defendant then denied the crime and did not reflect on it, and did not make any effort to recover the damage," he stressed.

On the other hand, Mr. A strongly denies the allegations, saying, `It is not a child abuser.' Earlier in September 2022, the case led to a legal battle after Ju Ho-min sued his autistic son for being abused by A. In the first trial, the court found A guilty of emotional abuse, and in that trial, illegally recorded transcripts during class were recognized as evidence.

A appealed against this, and Joo Ho-min filed a guilty plea, leading to confrontation. The controversy spread further, with Joo Ho-min signaling legal action against malicious comments directed at him and his family.

The direction of the case was further complicated by the decision to resume the hearing. There is a growing interest in how the claims of A and the prosecution will develop in future trials.
