Prosecution Appeals Yoo Ah-in’s Probation Ruling to Supreme Court

According to the legal community on the 20th, the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office filed an appeal with the court against the second trial's ruling, which sentenced infants accused of violating the drug management law to probation.
Earlier on the 18th, the appeals court overturned the original trial, which sentenced Yoo Ah-in to one year in prison, and sentenced him to one year in prison and two years of probation. In addition, he ordered an additional 1.548 million won, 80 hours of community service, and 40 hours of drug treatment lectures.
Yoo Ah-in, who had been imprisoned in the Seoul Detention Center, was released five months after his arrest according to the results of the second trial. The Appeals Tribunal said, "The crime is not good and there is a lot of room for criticism because the defendant committed the crime by arbitrarily using the names of his family members and acquaintances using the loopholes in the medical drug management method." The defendant seems to have committed the crime due to long-term sleep disorders and depression and pain of not being able to sleep properly." It appears to have overcome much of its current drug dependence and has vowed not to repeat itself"The reason for the commutation was revealed.
Yoo Ah-in was indicted in October 2023 on charges of repeatedly administering medical propofol 181 times at hospitals in Seoul from September 2020 to March 2022. Between May 2021 and August 2022, he was charged with illegally buying 1,100 sleeping pills of two types under the name of another person 44 times, and smoking marijuana in the United States with four accomplices, including Choi, an acquaintance.
Meanwhile, the movie starring Yoo Ah-in will be released in theaters on March 26. According to distributor By4M Studios, Yoo Ah-in does not plan to participate in promotional activities and interviews.
